Ruby Bass RB-3000
The great breakthrough of the short scale bass happened in the early 60s as we all know. The recent years have shown a greater interest from bass player for this style of instrument. This is not only related to body and neck sizes since a 30” scale bass also has a very distinctive sound. There is also a clear evidence that shorter scales do not mean less bass frequencies, it is all the opposite in this case. The great breakthrough of the short scale bass happened in the early 60s as we all know. Magneto® guitars developed the new Ruby Bass with the intention to provide the musicians with a new form of aesthetics and tone. The choice of pickups and their placements have played a major role in the fat low end tones that you can get from this new instrument.
The body is made of Basswood and the neck is made of a layered maple construction in order to guarantee its stability. The Rosewood fingerboard is adorned with the newly designed Magneto Ruby inlays. A bone nut will ensure best tonal response coupled with a classic vintage type bridge on the other end. The tone is controlled by a volume, a general tone and a balance pot in order to get the best tonal sweetspot depending on your amplifier setup. The New Magneto® MAP-1 and MAJ-1 pickups have been designed to capture this unique and complexe sound architecture.
The Ruby Bass will be available as of May 2026 in finishes such as Ruby Red Metallic, Olive Whisper and Vintage White.
